Lower Hope Gardens – National Open Garden scheme
Outstanding five-acre garden with seasonal variations, featuring immaculate lawns, herbaceous borders, rose gardens, a white garden, Mediterranean, Italian, and Japanese gardens. Water features include natural streams, man-made waterfalls, and bog gardens, while a woodland area filled with azaleas and rhododendrons leads to a lime tree avenue and a lake surrounded by wildflowers and bulbs.
The garden also houses a large glasshouse and conservatories with exotic species such as orchids, bougainvilleas, and tropical plants, along with butterflies breeding in the summer. You can also enjoy the prize-winning herd of Hereford cattle and Suffolk sheep grazing in the surrounding fields.
Tea, coffee, and cake are available for purchase. Assistance dogs only.
